Cashel, County Tipperary

We are approaching this trip a bit differently. After listening to different people explain how they have traveled, I decided that I wanted to have one location and call it ‘base camp’. I didn’t want to pack or unpack every day or two. So, after reading a lot of reviews and studying maps, it looked like a village called Cashel in County Tipperary would be the best.

It is centrally located in the southern third of the country. But even better are the slew of major roads that intersect within a mile or two of the village; easy on and off.

Our bed and breakfast is on the edge of town … I will get a picture and post it in a day or two. Or you an go to …. Ard Ri House. Our room is the second bedroom shown on the ‘Room and Rates’ page.

After church on Sunday, we walked and explored the Cashel Folk Village, Main Street and had lunch at Davern’s Bar … Sorry everyone – skipped the Guiness! But the Bulmers (hard cider) was perfect!
