We are truly deciding our day trips the evening or afternoon before. Since we had a successful day with Cobh, we decided Waterford would be next distention. Besides, who goes to Ireland without taking a tour of Waterford Crystal? It was high in Sara’s list. So, after another great Irish breakfast at the Ard Ri House … We headed south and little more towards the east.
The drive to Waterford was good. Conquering the hills and some parking in Cobh really helped the day before. We retraced an earlier route through Cahir – Clonmel – Carrick-on-Suir and then headed further southeast to Waterford. The dozen or so roundabouts in Clonmel were much easier.
After parking … Almost everything is pay and park which means … Park and then find the parking box to pay. It spits out a slip showing beginning and end times … Most places are two hour parking. You can move the car, but can’t return to the same spot/area for one hour.
Anyhow, after parking … We walked by the quay or docks and saw some of the historical sites.
